Changelog

An entry only exists here when something in this repository can be held up against it: a removal date recorded against a dead convar, a value or a count that differs between two published versions of the data, or a page you can open right now and read. Where a date could not be evidenced, no entry was written. Rust's history runs a decade further back than this log; our own record does not.

Two dates can appear on a row. The date on the left is when the change happened. For a client change that is the patch Facepunch shipped it in, which is usually months before anyone here noticed; the row then also says when it was written down.

Numbers inside a row are history. “27 entries” on a row dated August 2026 states what was true that day and is deliberately not recalculated as the catalog grows.

Where the client dates come from. The names, defaults and removal dates in this reference are read from a published dump of the Rust client's own registered convars — rusthelp.com's command list — with a second source added per record where one exists. That is a single aggregator for most of them, which is why most of those records carry inference rather than a stronger label, and why every record named on a row here prints the label it carries.
